As part of the Boyle Arts Festival 2026, Ardcarne Garden Centre, Boyle, will be displaying 'Nature and Nurture' within the Ardcarne Garden Café from 16th July.
Nature and Nurture is a series of giclée prints on the topic of people and how we occupy and relate to our environment. The works combine visual art (both physical print-making and digital composition) with snippets of flash fiction and poetry, and will be presented as part of the Boyle Arts Festival. It is the latest series from the collaborative art project, Dividual Notes.
Dividual Notes is a long-running collaboration by mother-and-son duo, Brigit Egging and Tobias Baudry, combining drawings, paintings, and prints by Brigit with creative writing by Tobias. For this series, Brigit composed dried flowers and leaves from her garden onto gelli plates (a gelatin printing surface), applying paint and pulling prints in successive layers. The results were scanned and composited with texts, reworked and refined until a finished piece emerged.
Brigit and Tobias share an interest in understanding where one's sense of belonging is rooted, and how small moments can alter our perception of ourselves and reality. Their collaborative practice is a conversation, a back and forth, drawing on each other for ideas and feedback. Sometimes imagery leads the process, sometimes text. The result is work that blends two perspectives in many different mediums.
We encourage all of our customers along with those interested in the visual arts to visit. Nature and Nurture will be on display at Ardcarne Garden Café from the16th to the 31st July.
